Book’s 7-year journey to publication

From November 1 to 30, 2018, the original 53,037 words of Star-Crossed Alliance (then called simply “Princess”) were first created on the virtual page. A few of those words remain in the book today, exactly seven years later.

The story was first revised in spring of 2020, then autumn of 2021, then winter of 2021-22. The draft as it existed in 2022 received feedback from various critique partners and was revised again that year during which time it expanded to 76,118 words by April and then dropped to 67,424 words by August. In November of 2022, the story went through a manuscript evaluation after which it was revised again, received another critique, and was revised again December of 2022 to January of 2023. The manuscript was now 67,903 words. Its next revision was May of 2024 and in June began its critique journey with a small group of fellow Women’s Fiction Writers Association members. by November of 2024 it had expanded to 72,725 words. In addition to ongoing critique, the manuscript received a professional developmental edit in 2025 and was then revised again in March. Now it was 89,745 words. Another revision was completed in June-July bringing it to its high count of 95,679 words. The final draft went through a beta swap, then its last revision in October of 2025.

It was published in November with its official launch December 6, 2025. The final story is 94,377 words.
