I’ve never so closely tracked a package delivery as the past week. Sunday, November 9 – order shipped from the Whitby, ON facility. Thursday, November 13 – order arrived Rocky View County, AB at 10:10 a.m. and left 4:46 p.m. Order arrived Saskatoon at 5:04 a.m. today. I spent Friday pacing the house, staring out the front window despite knowing that would not make the package arrive any sooner. When a van showed up in the neighbourhood, we tracked the driver as he stopped across the street, around the corner, then pulled up across from our house. I met him at the door.
Despite shaking hands, I held off opening the box until we were ready to record the historic moment: my first novel on paper in my hands.
