Meet Monica Goertzen Hertlein, author

In-person Saturday, August 8, noon to 4 p.m.: Meet the author and book signing at Coles bookstore – Lawson Heights Mall, Saskatoon.
In-person Wednesday, August 19, Shell Lake Library, Shell Lake, Saskatchewan. Monica will read from her newest novel Hideaway as well as discuss her path to becoming a writer and published author.

Hideaway is a romantic sci-fi western with a Canadian flavour about found family and belonging.
Monica will read from her latest release and paperback copies of Hideaway will be available for sale. Meet the author, ask questions. I might even have answers. Join me to celebrate!

Online June 21 to July 4: Monica along with 122 Canadian authors participated in the inaugural FictionFest; an online festival featuring a virtual author showcase along with 36 live online events including readings, panel discussions, author conversations, and genre-focused sessions. Online July 3: Monica along with Canadian authors Bruce W. Bishop and Vanessa Ricci-Thode discussed The Rise of “Cozy” Fiction.
Online June 29: Monica read from her debut novel Star-Crossed Alliance along with fellow Canadian mixed-genre authors Linda Mah, Andy Taylor, and Michael Nest.

In-person May 8, 2026: Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild Apprenticeship Readings.
Along with four other 2026 apprentices, Monica was introduced by her mentor, Tanya Reimer, to read from her forthcoming sci-fi romance novel Hideaway.
In-person May 2 and 3: Monica and fellow authors Janelle Filteau (The Egyptian Heir series) and Donovan Thiesson (Dead Faeries, Saskatchewan Screams) along with Spud Publishing attended PopCon YXE. Many visited our book sales table or stopped to say “hi.”


In-person April 27, 2026: Book launch and readings at d’Lish by Tish Cafe in Saskatoon. Meet the author, hear Monica read from her latest romantic fiction novel A Valley Girl Dilemma, ask questions and hopefully hear answers.

In-person December 6, 2025: Book launch at Pages of Passion Bookstore in Saskatoon for Monica’s debut sci-fi romance Star-Crossed Alliance.
