This month marks a milestone in my author journey: I received my first rejection! It was February 13 and not only did I receive a rejection, but it was a personal rejection with comments on my fantasy short story and an invitation to submit again. I was thrilled. I have now collected four of my goal for 2023: 100 rejections. Because receiving rejections means I’m submitting. And submitting is a prerequisite to publication. And if a 5% success rate is considered good in the publishing world, then 100 rejections means (I hope) 5 publications. Wish me luck!
